Where We Started...

Acme Apartments was built in 1925 by two visionaries: an architect by the name of Samuel Willthorn, and a developer named Alton Phillips.  Remember that this was right before the great Los Angeles earthquake and its widespread destruction.  Willthorn had taken seismic readings of the Los Angeles basin and had surmised that an earthquake might indeed take place.  Looking around at all the brick buildings, he shuddered at the thought that they might one day fall to pieces.  "Well," he said to his friend Alton, "we shall create a building that will survive!

So it was that Acme Apartments was first conceived...

Many historians believe that Acme Apartments was the very first earthquake proof building!  It had special seismic supporters keeping its underweight from overevolving into a destructive geospiral.  It had tectonic plates to counter those of the Earth's crust.  And it had hydraulic pillars that could shoot deep into the core and restabilize in case of a magma spike.  In short, Acme Apartments was, and is, indestructible.

...and so it continues today!

Many of the staff have been with Acme Apartments since its cornerstone was laid.  We attribute our preternatural youthful vigor to the positive, enriching atmosphere we happily provide!  Some of our staff were even tenants at one point.  They were so enchanted with the place that they couldn't leave--they just had to become employees!
